Buhari Has Health Issues And May Not Live More Than a Year or Two if He Assumes Office As Nigeria’s President in 2015

A source, knowledgeable of happenings within the corridors of power, Aso Rock, has said there is a security report concerning the health of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, the APC presidential standard bearer.

The source told Daily Post that the 72 year-old former Head of State may not live more than a year or two if he assumes office as Nigeria’s President in 2015.

“Many people think the presidency or the PDP is trying to portray Buhari in a bad light or declare him unfit for the nation’s topmost job but the information I am giving you is authentic,” he assured.

Asked to provide specifics of the content of the security report to back up his claim, the source said: “A part of it goes thus: “Should Buhari win, he may not be able to complete a single four-year tenure due to his health condition as he continues to manage his health secretly.”

“Let me ask you these questions: Why do you think Tinubu was ready to risk a Muslim/Muslim ticket? Why do you think he presented himself at the eleventh hour when talks were on to pick Buhari’s running mate? When he failed in his quest, why do you think he picked his associate of 20 years?

“The truth is that Tinubu and his cohorts knows the demands of office will tell on Buhari and same will either kill him or weigh him down excessively,” the source added.

North not backing Buhari

The source further told Daily Post that powers that be in the North are not comfortable with the choice of Buhari.

“Look, many eminent personalities in the North are not supporting Buhari’s candidature because they also know this fact that I am saying,” he said.

“They are aware that Buhari may not see 2019, so they don’t want to gamble. We all know there exists a Northern cabal and these guys will rather wait for President Jonathan to complete his eight years and hand over to them. They want eight years too!

“So they have agreed not to throw their weight behind Buhari, who may not even see four years through. The North do not want a repetition of the Yar’adua saga; there are being very careful.

“This is because if anything happens to Buhari, power will return to the South; South-West for that matter and this may happen less than a decade after Baba Obasanjo left Aso Rock.

“Not just that, power will effectively be in the hands of the rogue called Bola Tinubu because Osinbajo is his confirmed stooge. Can you now see all these indices? Now, who in his or her right senses would believe that the North are backing Buhari. Certainly, not the North I know.”

My Certificates are with the Military, Gen. Buhari tells INEC

We all heard yesterday that Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo told INEC that his Bachelors and Masters’ degree certificates in Architecture from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, had been consumed by fire.

Sambo, who is the Vice Presidential candidate of the PDP, made the declaration in the documents he filed with INEC and displayed on the commission’s office in Abuja, even though the details of the fire that consumed the certificates were not given.

Now, a former Head of State and the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the 2015 general elections, Maj.Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has also told the Independent National Electoral Commission that his academic qualifications and credentials are with the military.

According to Punch, a visit by journalists to the headquarters of the commission on Monday in Abuja
revealed that Buhari’s academic qualifications were not on display, unlike those of other Presidential candidates, including President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party.

But in an affidavit, which he deposed to at a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, he explained that all his certificates were with the Secretary, Military Board.

The affidavit dated November 24, 2014, was stamped and received by INEC on December 18 2014. And in it, Buhari stated:

“I am the above-named person and deponent to this affidavit therein. All my academic qualifications documents as filled in my presidential form, President APC/001/2015, are currently with the Secretary, Military Board as of the time of presenting this affidavit. The affidavit is made in good faith and for record purpose.”

Photo: Mechanic Stabs Man For Pinging While Driving In Lagos

A mechanic, Olajide Olaniran, has stabbed a 34-year-old man, Julius Joseph, for allegedly pinging on the road while driving in the Ijaiye area of Lagos State.

Punch gathered that Joseph was returning from a bank in the area to withdraw money when Olaniran, who was in a Toyota Corolla, blocked the road and accused him of pinging and driving.

It was, however, learnt that Joseph was checking an alert he received on his phone when the incident occurred.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Joseph challenged the 42-year-old mechanic for driving against the traffic and both men alighted from their cars.

Following an altercation between the two, Olaniyan, who hails from Ibadan, Oyo State, allegedly used a bottle to stab Joseph after which he made off with his (Joseph’s) two phones and N5,000.

The victim reportedly slumped at the spot having lost much blood. He was said to have been rushed to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, and was later referred to the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi for intensive care.

Our correspondent learnt that the suspect was arrested after the incident was reported at the Meiran Police Station.

A prosecutor, Lugard Ahonle, subsequently brought him before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ijaiye on five counts bordering on assault and stealing.

The charges read in part, “That you, Olajide Olaniran, on October 8, 2014 at about 5pm at Jolaco Filling Station, Obadeyi, Ijaiye, Lagos State, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did assault one Julius Joseph, by beating him up for challenging you while driving against the traffic with your Toyota Corolla saloon car.

“That you, on the same date, time and place, in the aforesaid magisterial district, did attempt to kill one Julius Joseph by stabbing him severally on his two hands over an argument between the two of you.

“That you did steal a Samsung iPhone valued at N60,000, Q10 BlackBerry valued at N98,000 and a sum of N5,000, property of one Julius Joseph.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the offences, which the police said contravened sections 55, 170, 243, 285, 404, Vol. 44 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2011.

The presiding magistrate, Mrs. T. Akani, admitted him to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Akani adjourned the case till January 26, 2015 for mention.

Cause of Ebola outbreak was 'a young boy playing near colony of infected bats', scientists say

Scientists said today that the cause of the deadly Ebola virus that hit West Africa this year was a 2 year old boy, known as patient zero, who played on a tree near a colony of virus-infested bats in his village in Meliandou, Guinea. He was the first person to die but before he died, he infected other family members, who then spread it to others and the virus eventually spread into other areas in Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Nigeria and Senegal, before moving to the US, UK and Spain.

This Ebola outbreak is by far the largest ever-recorded outbreak and it has killed about 7,800 people by Dec. 17, 2014, according to WHO.

Nigerian Witches And Wizards Predicts The Outcome Of 2015 Presidential Election

The witches and wizards in Nigeria say President Goodluck Jonathan will emerge winner of the 2015 Presidential elections.

They also said the All Progressive Congress National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, will be betrayed in 2015 by his close aides.

This was revealed in a communique signed by Dr Okhue Iboi, President Witches & Wizards Association of Nigeria (WITZAN).

“Tinubu will be betrayed. He will be sold out by those he trusted. This betrayal will affect his political empire. Tinubu’s political dynasty is under threat of crumbling.

“Tinubu is a good man, but the bitter truth he must swallow today is that APC is going nowhere. Many top notchers of PDP that are in APC now will go back to PDP. Witches said so in November last year and it happened.

“I’m telling the whole world again today that many former PDP leaders that are now in APC will betray Tinubu and other APC leaders, they will go back to PDP this year, and before 2015 general elections,” the communique read.

“Jonathan will win re-election. Although there will be pockets of violence, Jonathan will win.

“I will also have to appeal to Buhari and Tinubu, they should not waste their money, time and energy on the poll. They should go home and rest. They should forget about becoming President or Vice President of Nigeria. APC will still lose more governors to PDP before this year runs out.”

”I Regret Supporting Amaechi to Become Governor” – Odili Says

The former governor of Rivers State, Dr. Peter Odili, has expressed regret that he supported Gov. Rotimi Amaechi to become the governor of the state in 2007.

According to PUNCH report, Odili said Amaechi dismantled the structure of the Peoples Democratic Party through his (Amaechi) defection to the All Progressives Congress. That but for the quick intervention of a former Minister of State for Education and PDP governorship candidate in Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike, the party would have gone into oblivion.

It was  actually the first time the former governor would speak publicly on the strained relationship between him and incumbent governor. He said:

“We thought we did the right thing by supporting Amaechi to become the governor of the state. We left a united state; we also left a united party. The PDP was one, Rivers State is the PDP. There was no other party in Rivers State other than the PDP. Whatever
the party hierarchy said would happen. The secretary is here to support what I am telling you here today.

With all the best intentions, we supported his political career and ambition. We thought we did what was best for the state. As you know, until a man has power and has money, you don’t really know him.

One thing is clear; we have accepted our mistake and we are determined to correct it in 2015. Who would have thought that a governor who won an election on the platform of the PDP would defect with the mandate of the party to another party?

Who would have thought that a governor elected on the platform of the PDP would abandon the PDP to join an opposition party? The elders of the party who are here can corroborate what I am saying here today. We ran a cohesive party. We had respect for the elders of the party. We had respect for party members.”

Explaining that no member of the PDP attempted to hijack the party during his reign as the leader, Odili recalled that party officials respected elders during his days as the state governor. He, however, expressed gratitude to Wike for reuniting the PDP in the state immediately Amaechi defected to the APC, along with the former state chairman of the PDP, Chief Godspower Ake, his commissioners, his supporters and 22 out of the 23 local government chairmen.

“I want to thank the governorship candidate of the PDP for the 2015 governorship election and the next governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, for miraculously rescuing the party from disintegration and working tirelessly to unite the members of the party.

By the special grace of God in February, we are going to the polls. The first election is to re-elect President Goodluck Jonathan for a second term. The second election will be the governorship election where our candidate, Wike, will emerge as the next governor of Rivers State.”

I cried like a baby when Boko Haram attacked Kano college – Lecturer recounts ordeal

A lecturer at the Federal College of Education, FCE, Kabuga, Kano, Chief Christian Ojimba, in a recent interview with Vanguard recounted the ordeal he and some of his students went through when Boko Haram members visited their school on September 17th, an attack that lasted 45minutes. Below is what he said...
"It was a very serious attack and an unexpected one. Before the attack on our school, Boko Haram terrorists had attacked Kano State Polytechnic inside the city centre, with the new strategy of using female and male teenagers, who they arm with bombs. In broad-day light on Wednesday, September 17, our school, the Federal College of Technology, Kano, was attacked.
That day, I didn’t have lectures, but, in my usual way, I had to go to school, because I am very friendly with my students.

I am always in my office to solve their problems because I love my students. I must say that I had premonition which, if I had heeded, I wouldn’t have been involved in the attack. One, I didn’t have lectures; two, when I got to the school gate, I discovered my office keys were not in my bag; three, my wallet containing my identity card, driver’s licence and other important documents was not with me. But when I got to the office, my colleague had already opened the door with his own key. If the door had been locked, I would have gone back home.

I stayed in the office, Room 78, upstairs at the new site of School of Arts and Social Sciences, FCE, Kano. Around 1.15pm that day, I heard the sound of multiple bomb explosions at close range. Before you knew it, there was pandemonium. Students and staff were running helter skelter for their lives. On noticing this, I came out of my chair to check what was happening and what I saw was the Boko Haram people wielding AK-47 guns shooting sporadically and directly at everyone at sight. Downstairs, they had killed one of our lecturers, Dr. Thomas Kayode Ajamu from Ogbomoso, Oyo State. Dr. Ajamu, a former Head, Department of Christian Religious Studies, CRS, was buried that same week.

So when I came out of the door, there was no way to pass. Dead bodies littered everywhere because this attack happened at the prime-time for lectures.
Before the attack, I have reason to believe terrorists came on surveillance. Several male teenagers came visiting our offices in pretence that they were begging for money. The one that came to my office said, teacher good afternoon, please I am going to the hospital, I am not feeling too well, but I don’t have money for transportation. Even though I don’t understand Hausa very well. I replied him in Hausa, that I forgot my money at home, that there was no money on me, and he thanked me and left.

That was the conversation during the surveillance time and they did it in all the blocks in the five departments of the school- Department of History where I belong, Department of Geography, Social Studies, Christian Religious Studies, Islamic Religious Studies, and the Deanery. They surveyed everywhere before the attack.

My office is located on the first floor of a one storey building, so, I couldn’t jump down. I saw students jumping down, some got injured, while others didn’t. What I did was that I hugged a pillar from the first floor, trying to come down through it. So, when students noticed I have created an escape route, many joined me and it was in that process that there was a stampede. I fell down and couldn’t move because the long bone joining my right knee got broken and shifted out of its socket.
I was trapped. I couldn’t run because a Boko Haram man was just a stone throw. So, I told myself, ‘to God be the glory, God receive my soul in heaven’. There was no escape, the man was directly shooting sporadically at any person in sight. He was shooting directly at both the young and old. They didn’t spare young boys and girls who came to the school to sell groundnut and pure water. All of them where shot dead.

At the end, there was a massive attack, many people were killed, several others were wounded. The big testimony of it all, was that the Boko Haram man was standing on me, while shooting at others. When I saw him I played dead. I remembered when I was in Alvan Ikokwu College of Education, Owerri, in 1984, there was this lecture we had then on self-defence mechanism. I remembered the lecturer told us how to escape if we were in situations like this. So, that knowledge came into me. Another thing that came into my mind at that critical moment was that I remembered that I and my wife had been praying and fasting against gun shots, bomb blast.
At the Boko Haram man stood on me as if I was a dead victim, I didn’t know how God seized the pains I was going through as a result of the broken knee bone and also my breathe was also seized.

Few minutes later, the man left me and was walking away towards the school gate. At that same time, there was one of the female lecturers in my department who was finding her way out with four others. The man spotted them and asked them to say their last prayers. While they put their hands up to say the prayers, the bomb the man had on his body blew him up.
Shortly thereafter, a security guard came to me and asked me to stand up, stand up, but I told him I couldn’t, that my leg was broken. He tried to pull me but it was not easy because I was bigger than him. He managed to pull me to hide behind a door inside a class. There too, I also played dead because the sound of gun shots was still raging.

Some minutes later, I peeped from the door and saw some policemen inside the school. I was in dilemma as to whether to call them to come and help me or not, because, sometimes, these Boko Haram people dress in police and military uniforms. Everybody had vacated the school premises, nobody knew I was behind the door writhing in pains. I said if the policemen were not authentic security agents that means I am gone, because there was still sound of gun shots.
God receive my soul

I said within myself, if they were genuine policemen, I have a testimony to tell, but if they were fake, God receive my soul. So, I summoned the courage and called them, ‘Officer, officer, please come and rescue me’, and they said ‘who are you?’ I introduced myself as Chief Ojimba of History Department of the college. I told them I fell from upstairs and my leg was broken.
It was then that they mobilised other soldiers. They asked for my ID card. I told them I left it at home. They didn’t believe me and threatened to kill me. I said I couldn’t stand up, my leg was broken.
I said they could waste me but I was a lecturer in the school and they could confirm by going to my office at room 78. I said they could see my two phones and a new laptop in the office. Yet they didn’t believe me, so, they ordered me to pull-off my shirt and singlet which I did. They further asked me to pull-off my trousers and I cried to them that my legs were already swollen and my bones broken and I could not. In harsh tone, they warned that if I fail to obey their instructions they will shoot me. After doing that, they also asked me pull-off my short, which I did and was stark naked.

Well, one shouldn’t blame them, because they were actually doing their job. They wanted to confirm if I was not one of the terrorists, and was not concealing any bomb in me. When they noticed I was stark naked and nothing was on me, they instructed me to put on my clothes. Then, they rescued me out of the place. An Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP, that came with the team, an elderly man like myself, carried me on his back, with three other soldiers carrying my swollen right leg to the waiting school ambulance. I cried like a baby, as I was taken to the Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital, Kano. I have never cried like that before all my life. It was then that they brought out dead, Dr. Ajamu of the Department of CRS. He was shot inside his office, because the Boko Haram people went to offices, classrooms and toilets shooting anybody at sight.

I stayed at the specialist hospital with my broken leg inside Plaster of Paris, POP, for about a week. But I must confess that I was impressed by the way our school’s governing council, the school management, students, staff unions, friends and relations rallied round me while I was hospitalised.

Ladies, Here Are 10 Signs He’ll Make A Bad Husband

Lots of marriages today are facing challenges, heading for devorce courts, while some just decided to remain single. I think is better to be cautious before buying that dream wedding dress and rushing down the aisle.

Here is an invaluable guide to spotting a potential disaster before making the biggest mistake of your life..

• Drinking After Work

Go back a few decades, and after a hard days work, men would meet in the pub for a well earned pint whilst their dutiful wife made a hearty meal which was to be ready on the table when their husband arrived home. But fast forward to now and everything has changed. If your future husband has failed to keep up and still thinks that this outdated tradition is in fashion, then it is time to pour a pint over his head and send him packing.

• Lack Of Cleanliness

If he doesn’t invite you back to his place ever, it may be that he has something to hide. But if he does invite you back and you find a level of cleanliness that makes you want to regurgitate, it is probably time for YOU to hide. Cleanliness doesn’t make a good husband, but dirt is a sign that you are heading for trouble on the domestic front.

• He Has No Paternal Instinct

If we are to follow nature to the letter, then your marriage will hopefully lead to the pitter patter of tiny feet. But if the sound of a crying baby makes him wince and shudder, where as you crave that maternal bond, then it’s likely he’s not the fella for you. Carry on the search, focusing on men who lurk around Mothercare and the Early Learning Centre.

• He’s A Real Life Beer Monster

Alcohol – the majority of us enjoy a tipple and as long as we keep within the recommended guidelines for health, it seems it is doing us no harm. But if your future husband drinks the weekly allowance in a day then displays very suspect behaviour, then things are likely to get worse before they get better, if they ever will. Take this as a lucky escape and leave somebody else to pick up the pieces.

• He’s A Top Shelf Mag Reader

Having a stash of lads mags under your bed when you’re single isn’t exactly crime of the century, but if they are still there months into your relationship, take this as a sign that his long term commitment potential is dubious. Move on, and look for a husband whose idea of a mag under the bed is the latest copy of ‘Bridal’ magazine.

• Football Comes First

If his idea of art is a Pele poster, he takes his packed lunch to work in a football shirt shaped plastic box, and he disappears every Saturday afternoon without a plausible excuse, you may well have fallen victim to a football addict. There is no cure, not even marriage, so if you are not willing to accept it, then he is likely to be bad husband material. Move on…

• Money Is His God

In the words of that well known group ‘The Beatles’, money can’t buy you love, but if you dream of Dolce Gabanna and crave Jimmy Choos, then it will help. Shallow perhaps, but marry a man with money to burn, the loveable but poor Mr Right will eventually be Mr Wrong.

• He Makes You Clean All The Time!

Cleaning can be good – cleaning can be therapeutic – but when both parties in a relationship work equally long hours, it is not just one person’s job, especially when the least willing party is the messier. If he buys you floral fragranced toilet cleaner and not a dozen red roses on Valentine’s Day, the writing’s on the wall.

• His Vanity Knows No Bounds

Men – we like a man that takes care of himself, but unless you fancy a total change, beware a man who loves himself more than you. If he looks at himself in the mirror more than he looks at you, it’s already doomed to fail. Next!

• Computer Games Are King

Boy’s Toys – they have their place, and even a boyish charm, but there is a point where enough is enough. Marriage is about respect and love for the other party at the centre, so if a console game is nudging its way in, then two’s company, but three’s a crowd.

Fuel scarcity looms as oil workers threaten strike action from tomorrow

It appears another episode of petroleum scarcity is about to hit Nigerians as members of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association [PENGASSAN] and their counterparts in the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers [NUPENG], are set to begin a nationwide strike starting from tomorrow Monday December 15th.
According to Premium Times, the oil workers are heading for a strike action due to unresolved labor issues with the federal government, underfunding of the Petroleum Training Institute in Delta state as well as the yet to be passed Petroleum Industry Bill PIB.
"We (the oil workers) have sufficient reasons, based on information available to us, to believe that the law makers are not prepared to pass the law, even as the state of the country’s petroleum industry has continued to deteriorate as a result of the absence of a regulatory and legal framework for the industry,” an official of the petroleum workers body said.
The oil workers are said to also be aggrieved over the decision of the management of Total Nigeria to sack the PENGASSAN zonal Secretary in Port Harcourt as well as the lack of promotion for workers of the Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF).

Photo: Boko Haram victim in search of his wife and seven children

A 40 year old identified as Matthew Zira, (pictured above) says he's searching for his wife and seven children after members of Boko haram invaded their village in Michika LGA of Adamawa state on September 7th. A distraught Matthew narrated his ordeal to The Nation. Read what he said below..
My name is Matthew Zira. I am from Vi village in Minchika Local Government Area, Adamawa State. I was living comfortably with my family until that fateful Friday. Before that day, there had been rumours that Boko Haram would attack the village, but no one knew when they would come. So on that day, as usual, I went out of the house to look for my daily bread. I ride commercial motorcycle in the village, I am also a farmer, and did the commercial motorcycle work when farm work was over.
So, I left home as early as 6 am on the 7th of September 2014 on my motorcycle to commence the business of the day. But at about noon, I started hearing gunshots and everyone said Boko Haram had arrived town. I immediately rushed back home to go and evacuate my family, but before I got home, they had fled along with other villagers to an unknown destination. I went round town looking for them but could not find them. I went to the police station, hospitals and everywhere but could not find them. Before the evening of that day, Boko Haram had already taken over the entire village completely. I was advised not to go back home because all the houses in the village had been razed by Boko Haram. I fled to Minchika to continue the search for my children. Later, we had to flee to Yola when we heard that Boko Haram would attack Minchika. I spent one month in Yola searching everywhere for my children but I could not find them. Those of us who escaped from Vi village and other surrounding villages were camped at the NYSC camp in Yola. I thought of meeting my children there in the camp but they were not there. I had to come to Jos because I was told that thousands of Adamawa people ran to Jos. But I have searched all the IDP camps in Jos since the 5th of November when I arrived, I can’t still find them. There is even no iota of information about where I could find them. “Others who lost their families during the rush to escape have found their people, but in my own case, I’m still searching in vain. It is only God that will reveal to me what happened to my family. So, I am only looking up to God now because I have done all that is humanly possible. I am really in trauma; at night I can’t sleep, I keep thinking of my children. At times, if I am eating and the thought of the whereabouts of my children came to my mind, I will not be able to eat any longer, from that moment I will lose appetite. I am pleading with any Nigerian who knows where I can locate my children to contact me on my phone – 07037728905. My wife’s name is Tinana Mathew. My seven children are Rita, Ziramatu, Tumbamatu, Kwata, Racheal and one-yearold Doris. Please, I am eagerly waiting for any information on their whereabouts.” he said

Nigerian tissue seller in Spain returns €16,000 he found in briefcase

A Nigerian tissue seller is being praised in Spain as a good Samaritan after he returned 16 thousand Euros he found in a briefcase that fell from a car.

35 year old Peter Angelina, who makes a living selling tissue paper at a traffic light junction at the corner of Calle Juan Diaz de Solis and Ruben Dario in Seville, Spain, was selling his wares on Dec. 3rd when he noticed a small briefcase left on the roof of a car. The briefcase fell to the ground when the driver of the car pulled away. Peter picked up the briefcase and ran after the vehicle, trying to flag the driver down to return the case to him but couldn't get the attention of the driver. He then took the briefcase to a police station near the junction.

When police opened the briefcase, they found €3,150 in cash and six cheques with a combined value of €13,000 as well as some documents and a mobile telephone. More money than the man who left Lagos Nigeria for London, then Spain over 10 years had ever seen in his life.

According to Euronews, Spanish Police tracked down the owner of the briefcase, a 42-year-old businessman from Seville, and returned his belongings. The man later found Peter and rewarded him with €100.
"People say I could have kept the money and then thrown the briefcase away but I am not like that, and God wouldn't have liked that. I am not crazy, I am a good man." Peter later told local media

He started studying medicine in Seville five years ago and sells tissues to afford his studies. Read 7 Health Benefits Of Kissing

Found this great and informative piece and decided to share it with you guys. Here are 7 health benefits of kissing:

• Kissing Prevents Cavities

Who would ever guess that spit-swapping kinda had the same effect as mouth wash? According to the Academy of General Dentistry, saliva helps build tooth enamel and all that extra saliva built up in a tongue-tangling Frencher washes the bacteria off your teeth, which in turn helps break down oral plaque.

•Kissing Burns Calories

We wouldn’t recommend giving up that hour at the gym, still, locking lips is a serious workout for your face. Experts estimate that one minute of passionate kissing can burn anywhere between 2 to 5 calories.

•Kissing Strengthens Your Immune System

It may sound counterintuitive, but swapping spit is a great way to fend off the common cold. Research published in Medical Hypotheses suggests that kissing is actually an evolutionary adaptation to protect against the cytomegalovirus. And if you suffer from allergies, a kiss from your partner can keep you strong. A study published in Physiology & Behavior proved that kissing can improve your resistance to having an allergic reaction. Researchers studied 60 people with skin or nasal allergies. They all spent 30 minutes in a private room kissing their spouse while listening to romantic music. They asked another group to do the same, but hug — no lip-locking allowed. The results? The researchers concluded that the kissing reduced their allergic reactions.

•Kissing Lowers Your Stress Level

Sensuality — from kissing to touching to … well, you know — keeps us relaxed. To test the theory, researchers from the Arizona State University asked 52 people to spend six weeks making kissing a priority in their everyday lives. By the end of the test period, not only did they feel closer to their significant others, but they were significantly less stressed based on a psychological stress scale

•Kissing Reduces Blood Pressure

All that heart-racing lip-smacking is healthy for your ticker. Research shows that kissing dilates your blood vessels and therefore, helps reduce blood pressure.

•Kissing Relieves Pain

Kissing releases all kinds of natural feel-good chemicals in the body and these endorphins have proven to be even more powerful than morphine to relieve pain. Specifically, research published in the online medical journal PLoS One found that these hormones are akin to the benefits of a pain reliever.

•Kissing Gives Your Brain & Body A Boost Of Happy Chemicals

There’s nothing that unwinds you more than melting in the arms of someone you love … and those butterflies-in-your-stomach feelings you get from a swoonworthy kiss just sets you into paradise, right? There’s a science behind that. Kissing stimulates the release of oxytocin (the “love hormone”), endorphins and dopamine, which all mix together as a cocktail for health! After all, these chemicals boost your mood and your libido, proving that all that lovin’ is just what the doctor ordered.
