About N15 million was yesterday, realised at a dinner organised by the Abuja Catholic diocese for the formal take off of her new Television Channel, called Catholic Television in Abuja.
The church requires about N300 million to set a standard television studio that would serve her evangelization purposes.
In his keynote address at the CTV dinner organised by the church, the Archbishop of Abuja Metropolitan See, Cardinal John Onaiyekan, said the new television station is intended to be used as a tool of evangelisation to deepen the faith of the Catholic faithful within and outside the country.
The Cardinal said the new TV station is expected to provide all the Catholics the opportunity to evangelize in the future, using the electronic media to reach families in their homes.
Cardinal Onaiyekan, said the inspiration came, following the recent comments by various Popes, who have constantly admonished the church on the need to use the means of communication for evangelization today.
“Pope John Paul 11, himself used the media effectively to propagate the faith. It is for this reason that after having encouraged the stability of our Archdiocesan newspaper, I now wish to support the growth of our new Archdiocesan media project.
“What ever we do is part and parcel of what we preach in the church, spreading the good news of peace, love and charity. CTV is part of the broad based agenda of the gospel, which is part of the revolution,” he stated.

Oil price falls further on IEA energy forecast
The price of oil has fallen further after the International Energy Agency forecast weaker demand in 2015.
The IEA, a consultancy to 29 countries, said supply and demand would take "some time" to respond to sharp falls in oil prices.
It said it was too early to expect low oil prices to start constricting a US supply boom.
On Friday, Brent crude fell to below $63 a barrel, its lowest price since July 2009.
The price of Brent fell by $1.83 to $61.85 a barrel, hitting lows last seen in July 2009. Meanwhile, US crude was down $2.14 to $57.81 a barrel, its weakest since May 2009.
'Price rout'
The IEA cut its forecast for global oil demand growth next year by 230,000 barrels per day to 900,000 barrels per day on the expectation of lower fuel consumption in Russia and other oil-exporting countries.
Oil prices have been in steep decline since June due to slow demand growth and a US shale oil boom which has increased supply.
Prices "continued to plunge in November and into early December", the IEA said, adding that, "it may well take some time for supply and demand to respond to the price rout".
The root cause of the fall in prices was "a surge in non‐Opec supply to its highest growth ever and contraction in demand growth to five‐year lows".
It predicted that non-Opec supply gains would add to a global glut of oil.
The US boom should push non-Opec production to a record 1.9 million barrels per day this year, IEA said, but this figure should fall to 1.3 million barrels per day in 2015.
In Russia, the IEA said lower global oil prices combined with the effect of sanctions and a "collapsing currency" were likely to have an adverse effect on production.

A statement said King Bhumibol Adulyadej had accepted Princess Srirasmi's written request.
Crown Prince Vajiralongkorn had asked the government to strip his wife's family of their royally bestowed name.
Seven of her relatives had been arrested in a purge of officials allegedly involved in corruption.
The palace statement, which appeared in the Royal Gazette, read: "Princess Srirasmi, wife of Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn... has written to respectfully resign from her status in the royal family and permission has been granted by His Majesty the King."
Srirasmi is the crown prince's third wife, and the pair married in 2001. They have a son.
He was already known to be estranged from the princess, although they continued to attend official functions together.
The princess's uncle, a police general, was arrested over accusations of amassing vast wealth through smuggling and gambling rackets.
Four of her siblings and two other relatives have also been held.
Srirasmi would have been expected to become queen when the crown prince succeeded his father.
The pivotal position of the monarchy in Thailand's political order makes the succession an extremely sensitive issue.
Many aspects still cannot be reported from inside the country.
The strict lese majeste law criminalises any critical comment about the monarchy.
The world's longest-reigning monarch, King Bhumibol, a widely revered and unifying figure, has been on the throne in Thailand since 1946.
David Miliband 'passionately' wants brother Ed as prime minister
David Miliband has said he "passionately" wants Labour to win the general election and for his brother to become the next prime minister.
In an interview with the Financial Times, the former foreign secretary said his brother Ed, the Labour leader, had "clarity, vision, determination".
He also said it would be "unbelievably stupid" for the UK to leave the European Union.
Mr Miliband now runs the International Rescue Committee in New York.
The Miliband brothers contested the Labour leadership in 2010, which was eventually won by Ed, the younger of the two.
David, who left UK politics when he resigned as MP for South Shields in 2013, told the FT: "I passionately want Labour to win - and Ed to win [the general election]."
Leadership issues
There has been recent speculation over the Labour leader's ability to take his party to victory in the general election next May, with reports that some backbenchers wanted him to resign.
But when asked if his brother would make a good prime minister, David replied: "Of course. I would know that better than most."
Questioned about his brother's relevant qualities for the post, he added: "What I would say is that the clarity, the vision, the determination, those are all important qualities.
"But, equally, I have made it a rule not to insert myself into the political dynamic for two reasons. One, I have got a job that requires me to work with the current government.
"And, two, I am trying to run a charity, not a political party. My experience is that anything I say gets taken out of context."
'Real danger'
Mr Miliband was also asked about Prime Minister David Cameron's plans, should the Conservatives win the next election, to hold a referendum in 2017 on whether or not the UK should remain in the European Union.
There was a "real danger" that the prime minister might "paint himself into a corner", Mr Miliband said.
"Those on the pro-British - as I call it - pro-European side of the argument have got to make the case that we get far more from being at the table than shouting with a loud hailer outside the room.
"I have this residual faith in the common sense of the British people that generally they don't do stupid things. And it would be unbelievably stupid to walk out of the European Union."
When asked if he could ever envisage a return to UK politics, Mr Miliband pointed out that two years ago he had no idea he would be in his current post.
"You just don't know, do you," he said.

Sierra Leone Cancels Christmas Because of Ebola Virus
Sierra Leone said Friday it was banning any public Christmas celebrations as the spiralling caseload of Ebola infections continues to spread alarm.
Soldiers are to be deployed throughout the festive period to force people venturing onto the streets back indoors, the government’s Ebola response unit said.
Palo Conteh, head of the department, told reporters in the capital Freetown there would be “no Christmas and New Year celebrations this year.”
“We will ensure that everybody remains at home to reflect on Ebola,” he said.
“Military personnel will be on the streets at Christmas and the New Year to stop any street celebrations,” he said, without saying which areas would be targeted.
While Islam is the dominant religion in Sierra Leone, more than a quarter of the population is Christian and public gatherings and entertainment are common during the holiday period.
